MANDATORY NEFL PROCEDURE 1/29/16
In the Event of any On-field Altercation
Purpose: Compliance: This safety procedure is being implemented to give clear direction to players,
coaches and team management as to the required behavior and responsibilities
they have in this situation. While these situations occur infrequently, it should be
viewed as a school or office fire drill plan, and Team Management is responsible
for training and informing coaches, players and any sideline personnel.
The NEFL requires 100% compliance with this plan to ensure the safety of the
playing environment for all participants, officials and spectators. Failure to follow
these instructions will be considered sufficient grounds for suspension or
permanent expulsion from the NEFL for any player, coach, staff member and/or
team.

AFTER players are sent to sideline, Coach may assist the game officials,
following their direction, in controlling the altercation.
Sideline Staff, Coaches and Team Captains:
1. These Staff Members should be positioned along their own sideline with
their back to the field.
2. They are to direct sideline players and players being sent to the sidelines
to take a knee behind the sideline.
3. If the altercation is taking place at or near their sideline, they are to direct
the players to a sideline location at least 20 yards downfield from the fight,
remaining between the team and the fight.
Players:
